About the Director

Eli Gescheit is a qualified Urban Planner based in Sydney, Australia and graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2008. He is married with two children.

Eli has 5 years experience in private consultancies and a local Council in various urban planning positions in Sydney. He is currently looking for new opportunities to start 2012 in a fresh career.

Eli’s previous role was at Neustein Urban, a planning consultancy based in Bondi Junction. Some of the responsibilities were preparing Development Applications for a range of projects at various levels of complexity, and providing strategic planning advice.

Prior to Neustein Urban, Eli was employed for two and a half years at Waverley Council, where he provided planning advice to customers. He also provided customers with information on lodging Development Applications. These enquiries range from dividing fence disputes, first floor additions, shop fitouts, new residential flat buildings and commercial developments.

For a detailed overview of Eli’s professional experience read his LinkedIn profile here.

This type of work led him to establish The Planning Boardroom website as there was a need for more collaboration and knowledge-sharing among the professionals involved in the property industry. Additionally, there was no centralised forum to access planning and property development information for the Australian industry.

Prior to his time at Waverley Council, Eli worked at Urbis, a multi-disciplined property consultancy. The work at Urbis included the preparation of Development Applications and strategic advice for retailers, developers and commercial companies. At Urbis he was also involved in preparing relevant documentation for the deployment of mobile phone towers throughout New South Wales as part of the 3G network upgrade.
